I love Filey as I’ve holidayed there from being a young girl, so for about 65 years so I may be biased. Filey has a magnificent stretch of sandy beach that’s dog friendly from 1st October to 31st March and the rest of the time the stretch in the middle does not allow dogs. There are lots of things to do especially for children with a park and playground for youngsters. It’s also a great place to stay and have access to many other towns and villages a short drive away.

A lovely place, loved the seafront with its tasty donut and seafood huts.Plenty of places to have a cup of tea and fish n chips. Lovely promenade for a walk and to stroll along on my mobility scooter. Plenty of free seafront parking including free disabled bays. Lovely seaside shops with all the seaside bits and bobs you want, buckets n spades, wind breakers, stick of rocks, sugar dummies, fudge and fridge magnets. The little town centre had some some lovely shops and plenty of places to eat from fish n chips to chinese. Very clean and tidy place and a must place to visit. For those with walking difficulties, it is very hilly and my mobility scooter cut out trying to go from the seafront up to the town centre so had to use the car to get there.
The property was very modern and clean. Every bedroom had its own en-suite facilities which was fantastic. No need to share bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could have needed. The location was great and within walking distance to Filey shops and seafront and only a short drive to Scarborough. Although there is no off-street parking we never struggled to find parking spaces nearby for two cars. We will definitely return in warmer weather to make use of the lovely garden.
Sunrise Cove worked out really well for us (Mum, dad, 8-year old daughter and dog). Apartment was clean, modern and comfortable. The Bay resort has excellent facilities (warm, indoor pool and gym particularly welcome) and the beautiful beach is 10 minutes walk (dog really appreciated that !). Filey is a 5-minute drive with lots of places to eat and has its own well maintained seafront to stroll along. We would definitely go back !
Athol House is an exceptional place to stay. Everything is first class from the room to the breakfasts. The room is very warm and comfortable with nothing lacking that you would want for an idyllic stay. It is very conveniently situated in Filey with shops, gardens and sea front only minutes away. I would definitely recommend it to anybody wanting to stay in Filey and explore the surrounding area!

Clean, comfy, warm, welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Chris was a great host, lovely and helpful. Loved the little touches, like the mini fridge with fresh milk for the tea and coffee in our room. Good location for exploring Filey and the North Yorkshire coast.
Great location, just off the beach. Lovely and quiet. Views of Filey and Flamborough Head. Well appointed kitchen. Well maintained house and garden. Very comfortable. Convenient for a 50 min walk across the beach to Filey.
Loved the location and the apartment . Its a well thought out apartment with really comfy beds and a great shower. Nice little kitchen and it was very clean and tidy. We had great views of Filey Bay . We hope to return
Excellent location with great views over the bay. Hotel looked like it had been recently refurbished & redecorated, everything looked very clean and new. Food in restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was very good.
It's ok for the beach ,and commuting .stay clear of the onsite pub ,the meals are overpriced cheap and you would do better to nip the road to the nearest chip shop, sorry eating out in Yorkshire isn't the best
Everything at The Southgate was excellent.
The following Night we stayed having booked through BOOKING .COM at The Grand Hotel Scarborough it was deplorable'
